About:

Sonal K. Thengane is a faculty in the Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy at IIT Roorkee. He has got postdoctoral experiences at MIT and UC Berkeley, USA in the field of bioenergy after completing his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay Monash Research Academy. His research group is actively engaged in the area of utilizing waste and residual biomass from agriculture, forestry, food processing industries, and municipal solid waste for the production of energy, fuels, chemicals, and other useful products.

Current Research:

Biomass conversion and utilization; Carbon capture and storage; Waste to energy and waste management; Wastewater treatment; Chemical looping; Life cycle and techno-economic analysis
