Mr. Shantimoy Kar

Senior Research Fellow, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur

Mr. Shantimoy Kar, is currently a research scholar of Advanced Technology Development Centre (ATDC), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. After completion of his M.Sc. in chemistry, he joined in doctoral program to pursue research in the area of bio-microfluidics. During his doctoral research, he is involved in developing inexpensive microfluidic devices for different diagnostic applications. Specifically, his work involves with two different microfluidic platforms namely 'Lab-on-a-CD' (i.e. centrifugal microfluidics) and 'paper-based microfluidics'. He has been awarded with Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award-2014 and was also selected for IC-IMPACTS 2016 Summer Institute program.
