About:

Penny Mathumba is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Mintek, under the Advanced Materials Division. She has more than 6 years of research experience from Honours to Postdoctoral in projects that range from water purification to renewable energy and has managed to publish 6 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. She was recognized by Mintek in the month of August for the ‘Our Remarkable Woman’ title and nominated under the inspiring 50 South African women in STEM. 

Current Research:

Her area of research focuses on the border conflict, ethic conflict in Latin America and women’s issues, Feminism and Gender issues in East Asia.
