Dr Nazia Tarannum is an Assistant Professor in Department of Chemistry, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, India. She has obtained her Ph.D in Chemistry in 2011 from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India which was upgraded by graduation and postgraduation with first division from Lucknow University. She has worked as postdoctoral research fellow in BHU and IIT Bombay. Her research focuses on synthesis of new organic polymers and using them for Molecular Imprinting Technology. These molecularly imprinted polymers have been used to detect small biological molecules from aqueous solution. She has good acumen for theoretical predictions of geometry and other vital parameters of newly synthesized compounds using ab-initio study. She has also worked on polymer based chemiresistors and their application as potential sensors. She has published several research papers in journals of national and international repute. She has published one book and four chapters. She has been recipient of several fellowships from UGC, CSIR and INSA. She is the recipient of young faculty award 2016 for her contribution in the field of science and research.
