About

Sabihah Moola, is a senior lecturer at the University of South Africa (UNISA), she is a health communication specialist. Her areas of specialisation include: health communication, healthcare provider-patient relationships, public healthcare, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, among other illnesses, healthcare ethics, healthcare teamwork issues, decolonisation of health care, social and cultural aspects related to health care, patient-centred care, health promotion, edutainment, among other aspects related to the field of health communication. She is also lecturing in the field of media studies (related aspects). She holds a National Research Foundation (NRF)-Thuthuka grant, which was awarded for her PhD degree. She has published in the field of media studies including health communication and health promotion. She has coordinated and worked on different modules on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at UNISA. She is the module leader of the intercultural, development and health communication, for many years now at UNISA. She also supervisor’s senior students in the field of health communication and media studies. She is the project leader of a community engagement project she developed entitled “Communication and financial strategy planning” where workshops are hosted with registered NPOs. Dr Moola is a South African Communication Association member (SACOMM) and a Golden Key Honourable member.

Health communication, healthcare provider-patient relationships, public healthcare, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, among other illnesses, healthcare ethics, healthcare teamwork issues, decolonisation of health care, social and cultural aspects related to health care, patient-centred care, health promotion, edutainment, among other aspects related to the field of health communication.
